competitive fringe benefits package. The quality of the

to all eligible dependents of district employees, an
option becoming less common in the offerings from other
districts. Our package includes:
The District’s cap
on benefits is not to exceed $8,482 per teacher.
Health benefits can be extended into retirement and

full-time service in the district immediately prior to
retirement; is between the ages of 55 and 64 on the

allows continued health benefits coverage for one year
provided premium costs are paid by the employee each
month.

Staff Development
In the
Tracy Unified School District

Staff Development:
Supporting Teachers for Student Success
The Staff
Development Department provides support to various
District programs including new teacher, tenured
veteran, and site administrator support.
THE TRACY WAY
is an induction program based on the California
Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP). These
standards are also the basis for the District
evaluation.
Teachers new
to the District have two induction program
opportunities; one is the Tracy Teacher Induction
Program (TTIP) and the other is TTIP with the addition
of the 2042 Beginning Teacher Support & Assessment
program (BTSA).
TTIP
The
Tracy Unified School District
(TUSD) believes that teachers are the ultimate key to
student achievement and learning. TUSD provides all
teachers new to Tracy with support during their first
year in the District through the Tracy Teacher Induction
Program (TTIP). The goals of TTIP are to provide
teachers with the skills they need in both the science
of teaching and the art of teaching to better meet the
California Standards for the
Teaching Profession. In addition, TTIP
provides training and support to teachers to ensure that
they have a successful first year at Tracy Unified
School District. Ultimately, a successful first year
for teachers results in a successful year for students.
BTSA
2042 Beginning Teacher Support & Assessment (BTSA) is a
two-year Statewide research based program of induction,
support, and skill building designed to meet the needs
of beginning teachers in California and may lead to
clearing your preliminary credential through the TUSD.
Beginning teachers who qualify will be enrolled
in the program by Tracy USDs'
Human Resources Department.
You will be notified by the Staff Development office of
the opportunities for you to learn and earn up to four
(4) University credits for each year of participation in
this program. For more information on the TUSD BTSA
Program, please contact Tricia Hand, BTSA Coordinator at
(209) 830-3232 ext. 1552.
PARTNER
TEACHER
Veteran teachers are selected by site administration as
Partner Teachers to provide support to beginning
teachers. This selection is made after the onset of the
school year to take advantage of the personalities of
the matches so that the relationship between the two
parties will be collaborative and productive. Partner
Teachers are matched to pre-intern, intern, and new
hires not enrolled in the BTSA program. For more
information on the TUSD Partner Teacher/Site Advocate
Program, please contact Diane Traina, Partner
Teacher/Site Advocate Coordinator at (209) 830-3232 ext.
1556.
PAR
The Tracy
Unified School District operates a Peer Assistance and
Review Program (PAR). The program allows exemplary
teachers to assist others in the areas of instructional
skills, pupil progress, learning environment/classroom
management, adherence to curricular/learning objectives,
and/or related aspects of teaching. Please contact
Patty Furtado @
(209) 830-3260 ext. 1304 in the Human Resources
department for more information.
