programs operate
independently of the school
district unless otherwise

researching options. This
organization offers parents
information regarding who to
call for free help in
finding child care in
California. It has agencies
located in every county in
California. It also offers

information about the
elements of quality care,
state licensing
requirements, and
availability of child care
subsidies. The state,
through the California
Department of Education
Child Development Division,
supports the organization’s
efforts.
