Year-Round Education Intersession

Each month, one of the four tracks is on vacation, or "off-track."  A two-week Intersession Program is offered each month to these off-track students.  Each track has three Intersessions per school year, for a total of twenty-six instructional days.

The Tracy School District will offer Intersession programs for current first through fifth grade students from Freiler and Kelly Schools during the 2007-2008 school year.  These remediation programs are for students who are not meeting grade level requirements, who have not passed District Assessments, or who are in danger of retention.  These Intersession programs will focus on Language Arts/Reading and Mathematics remediation.  Current first through fifth grade students who are recommended by their classroom teacher for remediation in Language Arts/Reading and/or mathematics may be enrolled in Intersession, if the completed applications are received by the deadline date.

Student Intersession Applications are available from your child’s teacher or your school office approximately three weeks before your student goes off-track.  Applications must be completed and returned to your child’s teacher before the deadline date.  Your child's teacher must complete and sign the application before it will be forwarded to the District Office. All completed applications must be turned in to your child's school office.  Intersession Applications are not accepted at the District Office.  If an application is received after the deadline date, your child may be placed on a waiting list for enrollment into Intersession, as space is limited. 

Intersession hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 11:25 a.m. or, if necessary, 12:00 p.m. to 3:25 p.m. Transportation to and from Intersession will be the responsibility of parents.  The District will not provide bussing.

NOTE:  Due to very limited space, your child may not be assigned to his or her home school (e.g., a student from Freiler may be assigned to attend Intersession at Kelly School; a Kelly student may attend Intersession at Freiler).
